The University of Pretoria wishes to invite applications for the position of an Admin Assistant. Interested candidates living in the area should apply as soon as possible. 

Administrative assistant jobs are crucial for keeping organizations running smoothly. They provide support to different departments and help with tasks like scheduling, answering calls, and organizing files. Essentially, they’re the glue that keeps everything together.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Administrative assistant services within the TuksSport Client Service unit.
  • Mail and package deliveries, storeroom and inventory management.
  • Sort, deliver and pick up mail from various offices on the premises at regular intervals.
  • Pack material received for dispatch; as well as labeling, inserting material in envelopes for delivery to internal and/or external stakeholders.

Assist with Cashier duties and perform the following:

  • Front desk reception duties including providing clients with TuksSport information, petty cash management and cashier duties
  • Petty cash management
  • Cashier duties
  • Receiving of funds and forms.
  • Issuing receipts and balancing daily income. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must meet the following requirements and any other added qualification relating to admin assistant will be an added advantage. 

  • Grade 12
  • At least two years’ experience as a messenger or office administrator.
  • Driver’s license (minimum Code 8) 

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

  • Certificate in Office Administration
  • One year of Cashier or Client Service experience

PLEASE NOTE: All shortlisted candidates may be required to participate in relevant skills assessments as part of the selection process.

The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
