CLINICAL NURSE PRACTITIONER GRADE 1 AND 2 (PRIMARY HEALTH CARE)

SALARY:

GRADE 1: R 388,974 (PN-B1) PER ANNUM

GRADE 2: R 478,4 (PN-B2) PER ANNUM

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum educational qualifications:

  • Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and midwife (where applicable)
  • Post-basic qualification with at least 1-year Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment, and Care accredited with the SANC (i.e. R48). Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse and midwife (where applicable).

Experience:

Grade 1 requirement:

  • A minimum of 4 years of appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.

Grade 2:

  • A minimum of 14 years of appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing
  • At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in the relevant specialty.

PROFESSIONAL NURSE GRADE 1 AND 2 (SPECIALTY NURSING)

Required in the following specialties:

.

Orthopaedic, Ophthalmology, Theatre, Oncology; Intensive Care; Trauma & Emergency, Paediatric Intensive Care, Psychiatry, Midwifery and Neonatal, Paediatric, Occupational Health, Nephrology (include if requested, assuming that such a component exists on the Establishment)

SALARY:

GRADE 1: R388 974(PN-B1) PER ANNUM

GRADE 2: R478 404 (PN-B2) PER ANNUM

Requirements:

Minimum educational qualifications:

  • Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse
  • Post-basic/advanced nursing qualification, with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with the SANC in one of the specialties referred to above.

Registration with a professional council:

  • Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse.

Experience:

Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years of appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.

Grade 2:

  • A minimum of 14 years of appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing
  • At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience in the specific specialty after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in the relevant specialty.

PROFESSIONAL NURSE GRADES 1, 2, AND 3 (GENERAL NURSING)

SALARY:

GRADE 1: R260,760 (PN-A2) PER ANNUM

GRADE 2: R320,703 (PN-A3) PER ANNUM

GRADE 3: R388,974 (PN-A4) PER ANNUM

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum educational qualification:

  • Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse (or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse and Midwifery or Psychiatry (where applicable).

Registration with a professional council:

  • Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse and midwife or Psychiatry (where applicable).

Experience:

Grade 1: None.

Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.

Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.

STAFF NURSE GRADE 1, 2 AND 3

SALARY:

GRADE 1: R173,952 (SN1) PER ANNUM

GRADE 2: R207,696 (SN2) PER ANNUM

GRADE 3: R245,799 (SN3) PER ANNUM

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum educational qualification:

  • The qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.

Registration with a professional council:

  • Registration with the SANC as an Enrolled Nurse.

Experience:

Grade 1: None.

Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.

Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.

NURSING ASSISTANT GRADE 1, 2 AND 3

SALARY:

GRADE 1: R134 514 (NA1) PER ANNUM

GRADE 2: R159 198 (NA2) PER ANNUM

GRADE 3: R190 071 (NA3) PER ANNUM

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum educational qualification:

  • A qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.

Registration with a professional council:

  • Registration with the SANC as Nursing Assistant.

Experience:

Grade 1: None.

Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.

Grade 3: A minimum of 20’ years of appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.

NOTE: For positions in Cape Winelands, Garden Route, Central Karoo, Overberg, and West Coast District (only) Primary Health Care Services:

  • A valid driver’s license will serve as an additional requirement for the Professional Nurse and Clinical Nurse Practitioner posts
  • Nursing personnel must work at both the clinic and mobile unit, which will also serve as an additional requirement
