Job Level: OP2

Responsible for the application and technical support of users at the client site. Identification, diagnosis, and resolution of computer hardware, software, services, and applications. If you are passionate about computing then this is your job, but also keep in mind that you must meet at least 70% of the requirements in other to be eligible for this job. 

Academic Qualifications

.
  • Grade 12 (NQF 4) with relevant IT Certification
  • 1 year of experience in IT support would be an added advantage. 

Primary Function

  • Respond to and resolve support requests and service tickets
  • Installing and configuring client computer systems.
  • Responding to client IT support requests.
  • Meeting with clients to diagnose software, networking, or hardware issues.
  • Providing technical support on-site or via remote-access systems.
  • Offering solutions that meet the needs of the client.
  • Repairing hardware malfunctions, software issues, and networking problems.
  • Maintaining good client relations.
  • Tracking and managing work records.
  • Compiling job reports.
  • End-User Management

Hardware/Software:

  • Installation and configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners. 
  • Always available to solve any technical support issues experienced by the company or client either in person or through the phone. 
  • Be multi-skilled in all relevant areas, in order to be utilized to backfill key resources and work on customers’ sites, ensuring service excellence & continuity.

Functional Skills

.
  • Previous work experience in the field. 
  • Knowledge of web services, API, and IP-based protocols.
  • Computer troubleshooting. 
  • Must uphold BCX’s Business Ethics and Values
  • Computer literacy in networking and computer hardware.

Certifications/Professional Registration

  • A+ or N+ or CCNE or Cisco

Employment Condition
